My first fully completed VR game, made for the final project of my Game Engines class. I built off of one of the mechanics I made over the previous summer teaching VR game design at iDTech, VR rope swinging. It was a fun mechanic and seemed to be something a lot of the students were interested in making for their own projects, but was a little out of their skill level, so I made it and sent it to students to modify and implement into their own games.
The rope swinging was a fun way of making a VR platformer, as jumping in VR usually caused motion sickness this was an interesting way to move around without harming the user. I had to focus a lot on the positionings of each of the rocks and playtesting with various of my non-gamer friends to make sure I didn't make the level too hard. I also added a sandbox level at the end for those who wanted to test out the mechanic and just swing around!
